From Typing DMs All Day to
Letting Pengo Handle It 🐧

What started as a side idea to save time became a tool helping others do the same.

Why I Built PenguinDMs

Back in 2024, when I was running my solo SEO agency, around 70–80% of my clients came from Slack communities. I used to spend hours manually sending messages, building relationships, and tracking everything myself.

In Apr/May 2025, after pausing my agency to build PenguinMails, I already had Slack in mind as one of the main marketing channels to get customers after launch (PenguinMails). But then I realized, doing it manually again would take a huge amount of time and effort.

So, I decided to build a small internal tool for myself, something that could automate Slack outreach when the time came.
That small side project ended up turning into a full SaaS product.

(And was even launched before PenguinMails, although development on PM started 4 months before this tool came to my mind)

And, that’s how my second, or maybe first SaaS (PenguinDMs) was born. 🐧

What Makes PenguinDMs Different

I didn’t want to build another noisy automation tool.
PenguinDMs is built purely for Slack and not for emails or LinkedIn, but for how real people actually talk inside communities.

It sends messages naturally, one by one, with realistic pauses, so it feels like a human conversation, not a spam blast.
Everything runs safely in the background, meaning your outreach keeps going even if you close your laptop or browser.Ā

You can personalize every message using simple tags like {username} or {workspace}, making each DM feel genuine, like you actually wrote it yourself.

The dashboard stays clean and minimal. You only see what matters, such as the number of messages sent.

And maybe the biggest difference? PenguinDMs was built by someone who’s lived this problem.
I’ve spent years inside Slack communities doing manual outreach, building relationships, and getting real clients. This tool wasn’t built for hype; it was built from that experience.

Built by One, Made for Many

Mustafa – Founder

I’m 17, based in Pakistan, and I’ve been building online for a few years now.

I started learning SEO back in 2021, built my first blog in 2022, and soon found myself freelancing with SEO and link building in 2023. What began as small client work eventually turned into ContentLinkify, my own (solo-based) SaaS-focused SEO agency in 2024.

Running that agency taught me how much good outreach matters; it’s where most of my clients came from. But it also made me realize how time-consuming and manual it could be.

That experience led me into building tools, starting with PenguinMails in mid-2025, and now PenguinDMs. Each one began as something I needed myself, and slowly grew into products built for others too.

Fun fact: When I’m not on my laptop, I’m usually daydreaming about new projects.

Our Journey So Far

September 2025

Development Started

The idea of PenguinDMs first came to life around late July 2025, but we officially started building it on September 5th.

Private Beta Launch

After a month of building, testing, and refining, PenguinDMs finally opened its doors for the private beta.

This is just the start. I don’t know exactly how far PenguinDMs will go, but I know it’s going to be fun building it.

The Future of PenguinDMs

I’m just getting started. Right now, PenguinDMs is tiny, but the vision is massive.

I imagine a future where:

  • A founder proudly tells me ā€œPenguinDMs got us our first clients.ā€
  • I celebrate hitting 1,000 users, not with a press release, but with cookies shaped like penguins.
  • And one day, Pengo stickers start showing up on laptops in coworking spaces around the world.

PenguinDMs might be small today, but the dream isn’t. And Pengo’s already packing his tiny suitcase for world domination. 🧳🐧
